"Genuine Swedish engineering since 1940"

🇸🇪 Sweden · Est. 1940 · Part of Xylem Inc. · Sundbyberg, Sweden · grindex.com/

Swedish manufacturer of electrical submersible pumps for drainage, sludge, slurry and corrosive duties. Grindex was founded in 1940 in Ulvsunda, north-west of Stockholm, by the engineers Kristensson and Grähs; its first submersible pump was a lightweight drainage pump that could run dry thanks to a patented air valve, invented in 1960. The SMART electronic surveillance system followed in 1990. The headquarters is in Sundbyberg, and the entire production is managed in Sweden, from molten metal to finished products. The range covers drainage pumps from the compact Micro to the high-head Mega, sludge pumps (Solid, Salvador, Senior, Sandy), Bravo slurry pumps with Hard Iron hydraulic parts, stainless steel Inox versions for fluids with pH 2 to 10 and compact Primo pumps. More than 400,000 pumps have been delivered to over 100 countries through about 75 distributors, with a subsidiary in the United States (Chicago, established in 1989) and regional offices in Vietnam, Australia and South Africa. Grindex was part of ITT Water & Wastewater and has belonged to Xylem since its spin-off from ITT in 2011.

Product portfolio

19+ product families. Grindex pumps share one design philosophy: Hard Iron impellers for wear resistance, a patented air valve that lets the pump run dry, and the SMART electronic motor protection (plug and pump, no external starter). Drainage pumps (Micro to Mega) cover heads of 15 to 200 m and flows of 6 to 350 l/s with abrasive solids up to 12 mm; the small Micro, Milli and Mini are single-phase, while Minor to Mega are available in normal (N) and high (H) head versions. Sludge pumps (Solid, Salvador, Senior, Sandy) handle solids up to 80 mm, Bravo slurry pumps (pH 5.5 to 14, solids up to 50 mm) serve quarries, mines and dredging, Primo are compact pumps up to 0.8 kW, and Inox versions in AISI 316 stainless steel (Minette, Major, Master, Mega, Salvador, Senior, Sandy) handle corrosive fluids with pH 2 to 10.
